The use of undername in the import and export process in Indonesia is legal and protected by law as long as it is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. One of these regulations requires the inclusion of the owner of the goods in the Import Notification (PIB) or Export Notification (PEB).

In terms of the legality of using undername, tax-related regulations also need to be given serious attention. The responsibility for import duties and taxes, in this case, is the value-added tax (VAT) article 22 (import VAT), which must be considered to provide added value to the company. In the case of exports, VAT on exported goods can be refunded.
